IGU Supports Veterans in S.T.E.M
On February 11th members of the American Legion, a Veterans Service Organization, attended the signing of the “Supporting Veterans in STEM Careers Act”.
This new law encourages the expansion of veteran eligibility for STEM related training.
IGU offers several degree and certification options in the fields of Science and Technology to proudly support Veterans achieve educational and career success.
IGU Supports Women’s History Month
February 19th marked the celebration of National Vet Girls Rise Day 2020.
IGU appreciates the contributions of the nearly 2 million Women who have served in the Military as early as the Revolutionary War.
This was a perfect segue into Women’s History Month. Since 1987, March has been designated as Women’s History Month. This year’s theme, “Valiant Women of the Vote”, also celebrates the 100th anniversary of Women’s Suffrage.
The Department of Veterans Affairs takes this time to honor the service of Women Veteran’s as well. Many local and statewide observations are schedule this month to include March 8th which is International Women’s Day. Please take time to acknowledge and thank someone for their self-less service.
National Military Family Association announces Operation Purple Camp.
Operation Purple offers FREE camps for military kids where they can connect and build friendships with others. The application is open for the 2020 cycle of OPC, apply between now and April 12th.
