Letter of Interest in Academic Partnership between
Al-Ahliyya-Amman University in Jordan and WUST in the U.S.
Washington University of Science and Technology (WUST), accredited by ACCSC and located near Washington, DC, signed a Letter of Interest (LOI) with Al-Ahliyya-Amman University (“AAU”) in Jordan for a Joint Academic Partnership on August 28, 2018.
WUST and AAU will explore and pursue many areas of academic partnership and collaborations, including, but not limited to, the following activities:
WUST and AAU will develop "1+3," "2+2," and "3+1" years for bachelor’s degree programs (BSIT and BBA) and "1+1" year for master's degree programs (MSIT and MBA) for AAU students to pursue accredited U.S. degrees at WUST. WUST and AAU will conduct course-by-course evaluations per program to determine the exact length of AAU student’s academic program at WUST.
WUST and AAU agree to share all the student records, including degrees and academic grades, of each AAU student who graduates from WUST, so that AAU may consider awarding an AAU degree comparable to the WUST degree earned at WUST. As a result of this arrangement, the AAU student will receive a degree from both WUST and AAU and become an alumnus of both WUST and AAU. This special arrangement may be referred to as a “double degree program.”
- WUST and AAU will help AAU students start taking WUST courses online in Jordan before they are transferred to an WUST Program.
Dr. David Sohn, President and CEO of WUST will pay a courtesy visit to Dr. Sari Hamdan, President of AAU soon and coordinate the detailed implementation of a long-term, mutually beneficial and rewarding partnership between the reputable higher education institutions in the U.S. and Jordan, respectively.
