Washington University of Science and Technology has a quarter system with 10 weeks per quarter. There are four quarters in an academic year, and they are called Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall Quarters. For more information please refer to the academic calendar in the School Catalog.

Unless otherwise specified, credit hours in this Catalog are based on quarter system calculation (not semester system). Each term, whether online or residential, is 10 weeks long, starts on the same date, and ends on the same date.

Holidays
During the 2024-2025 Academic Year, WUST will observe the following holidays, on which there will be no classes and our administrative offices will be closed:
New Year’s Day (January 1st)
Martin Luther King Day (the third Monday in January)
Memorial Day (the last Monday in May)
Independence Day (July 4th)
Labour Day (the first Monday in September)
Thanksgiving Day and the next day (the fourth Thursday in November)
Christmas Day (December 25th)
Two additional days between Dec 24 and Jan 2
WUST does not observe the following holidays
Conversely, the university does not observe the following holidays, on which classes are held:
Presidents Day (the third Monday in February)
Indigenous Peoples’ Day
Veterans Day (November 11)
