How do I Prove My English Proficiency?

 

There are several ways you can prove your English proficiency to Washington University of Science and Technology.

Below are the English proficiency tests and scores that we accept.

 

TOEFL (Test Of English as a Foreign Language)

• WUST’s minimum placement score is 78 (iBT) Or, TOEFL iBT Home Edition 

 

IELTS (International English Language Testing System)

• WUST’s minimum placement score is 6.0

 

iTEP Examination (International Test of English Proficiency)

• WUST’s minimum placement score is 3.7

 

PTE

• Students must take the Academic test 

• WUST’s minimum placement score is 50

 

WAEC Examination (West African Examinations Council)

• Students that earn a grade of C6 or better will not need to take an English proficiency exam. 

 

Duolingo English Test (DET)

• WUST’s minimum placement score is 110

TOEIC (Test of English for International Communication)

• WUST’s minimum placement score is 800
